When you book a consultation
To book an appointment with Julian, you may ring or email the clinic. If you have not visited our practice before (or have not done so recently), you will be asked to complete a registration form on arrival.
If you have Southern Cross medical insurance and the appropriate policy, we will be able to obtain prior approval for your consultation fees and claim these directly from Southern Cross less any co-payment that may be required. For all other insurance companies, you will be required to pay on the day and claim reimbursement directly from your insurer. If you are paying privately, payment is required on the day of the consultation.
At your consultation
On the day, please ensure that you arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your appointment time. Please be aware that traffic can be busy particularly around school drop off and pick up times. If you are running late, please call the clinic to let us know.
When you arrive, we will welcome you and ensure that the relevant information is at hand, ready for your consultation with Julian.
After your consultation
If surgery is recommended, you will speak with our receptionist regarding your preferred dates for surgery and fill in the pre-admission forms. We will provide an estimate of costs for you to submit to your insurance company for prior approval. For operations covered under the Southern Cross Affiliated Provider Scheme we will apply on your behalf. If you have any questions about the surgery, or the arrangements for surgery, please do not hesitate to ask, and we will help you with these.
Alternatively, Julian may recommend a trial of treatment that does not involve surgery. He will discuss arrangements for further review, and your referrer will be sent a letter about your appointment and your management plan. Sometimes Julian may recommend further tests and investigations prior to considering any treatment. After you have completed the test or investigation, please let us know.
